上一章介绍了其他国家的货币市场，本章将聚焦人民币市场，探讨人民币汇率的形成机制及人民币掉期。
第一次汇率改革
2005年人民币第一次出现一次性升值。当时中国出口繁荣，从2001年加入WTO后一直面临升值的压力，并在2005年开始逐步释放，从此进入了快速升值的阶段。
这个阶段中国开始收缩货币政策，存款准备金在2005年之后快速开始升高，主要是因为当时面临贸易项下和资本项下的双重压力。在2001-2005年间，贸易项下通过出口带来的外汇及基础货币发行压力还没有那么大。一旦人民币开始升值后，外国投资者很开心，投资人民币资产、在中国造厂，既可以赚钱，还可以赚货币（汇率），所以当时的流入立刻增多。因此，中央银行需要提高存款准备金，从而开启了一个时代的变局。
