外汇历史上发生过起起伏伏很多的波澜，其中英镑危机是我觉得最有代表性的事件，1992年发生的这件事情给全世界的央行和政府都提了很大的醒——固定汇率行不通。
索罗斯的量子基金就是在当时一战成名的，也登上了FT（金融时报）的头版头条，华尔街日报等都报道了，称索罗斯是击败英格兰央行的人。英格兰央行在1990年代时是一家非常强势的央行，英格兰央行在1990年代时影响力非常大，后期因为整个经济在全球GDP的占比逐步缩水，一直到现在都远没有恢复。
这个例子直接证明了蒙代尔不可能三角。宏观背景来自于当时欧洲已经有了一个统一的货币体系，各个货币，意大利里拉、德国马克、法国法郎等都对德国马克做固定汇率的对照。当时西欧大陆上，还有包括北欧的国家都加入了那个体系。但当时缺一点什么呢？没有统一的货币政策，这是和现在欧元不一样的地方......
