2019年8月以来，人民币汇率四次破7，有两次发生在2020年以后。
2020年和2021年，人民币汇率中间价分别上涨6.9%和2.3%；（境内银行间市场下午四点半）收盘价分别上涨6.5%和2.6%。
2022年，人民币汇率中间价和收盘价分别下跌8.5%和8.3%。
2023年（截至12月15日，下同），人民币汇率中间价和收盘价分别下跌1.8%和2.1%。
这个过程中，人民币汇率弹性是明显增加。
其中有一个重要的指标，就是人民币汇率年度的最大振幅。2005至2014年，人民币汇率收盘价年度最大振幅平均相当于其他七种主要储备货币年度最大振幅均值的24.5%；2015至2022年，为 68.7%；2023年为89.7%，较2022年全年上升了12.3个百分点。
很多人关注人民币汇率的波动，喜欢用跨境资本流动来分析和预测人币汇率的走势。似乎形成一种观点，即人民币升值就是资本流入，人民币贬值就是资本流出，但事实并非这么简单......
