消息面上，新奥能源发布公告，9月19日，董事会批准公司动用不超过一亿美元等值的港元，根据公司于2018年11月30日采纳的股份奖励计划，指示负责管理股份奖励计划的受托人购买公司股份以用于股份奖励计划。
此外，跨国能源巨头雪佛龙位于澳大利亚的液化天然气工厂再次受到罢工影响冲击。据澳大利亚工会组织表示，雪佛龙工厂工人已开始第二次24小时的全面罢工，并可能持续到10月中旬。高盛表示，任何一天24小时的罢工都将增加供应风险，但该行认为，长期停运的可能性很低，这可能会推动天然气价格长期飙升。
