欧洲央行管委、法国央行行长Francois Villeroy de Galhau近日表示，鉴于当前的经济形势，欧洲央行预计将在6月份进行降息，并且在年底前进一步降息。
Villeroy在讨论中提出：“除非有出人意料的情况，我们应该在6月6日的下一次会议上做出首次降息的决定。对于通胀的下行轨迹，我感到更加自信。”
但他同时明确表示，不会回到2015年至2022年期间的超低甚至负利率水平。
早在3月，Villeroy已经加入到鸽派政策制定者的行列，警告称欧洲央行维持高利率可能对经济造成损害。
Villeroy认为，尽管将通胀率维持在2%的目标毫无疑问，但欧洲央行现在应该纳入一个次要的目标，即确保欧元区20国经济能实现所谓的“软着陆”，并指出，过早或过晚采取行动都可能迫使欧洲央行在未来不得不实施更大幅度的降息，因此支持在4月或6月采取初步行动。
