[Dow closed up for the 10th consecutive trading day, the longest streak of days since 2017] Friday (July 21), the S&P 500 index closed up 1.47 points, or 0.03%, at 4536.34 points, this week's cumulative gain of 0.69%, the second consecutive week of gains, July 19 closed at 4565.72 points, a record high since April 4, 2022 closing. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 2.51 points, or 0.01%, for its 10th consecutive trading day of gains, the longest streak since 2017, at 35,227.69, for a cumulative gain of 2.08% for the week. The Nasdaq Composite Index (Nasdaq) closed down 30.50 points, or 0.22%, at 14,032.81, for a cumulative loss of 0.57% for the week. The Nasdaq 100 closed down 40.41 points, or 0.26%, at 15,425.67, with a cumulative loss of 0.90% for the week. The Nasdaq Biotechnology Index closed up 0.69% at 4174.94, up 1.79% for the week. The Russell 2000 closed down 0.35% at 1960.26, up 1.51% for the week. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index closed up 0.96 percent at 3,698.85, down 1.37 percent for the week. The Philadelphia Stock Exchange KBW Bank Index closed down 0.97 percent at 87.67, after gaining 6.55 percent for the week, its fourth straight weekly gain. The Dow Jones KBW Regional Banks Index closed down 1.25 percent at 97.30, up 7.32 percent for the week and up four weeks in a row. The panic index VIX closed down 2.72% at 13.61.
