初次接触外汇买卖的投资者，一般都会盯着经济数据发布的时间表，希望借此可以抓紧机会买卖。然而，不同地域的国家存在时差，所以基本上一星期五天，每天二十四小时都可能有不同的经济数据发布。如果投资者利用这个方法去人手下单的话，无论判断力多好，又或是多有耐性的投资者，最终都会筋疲力尽而影响判断，导致亏损收场。
与股票市场不同，外汇交易的时段横跨了主要四个时区和地域，基本上周一至周五每天24小时都可以进行交易。
那么除了日以继夜不眠不休地去做买卖之外，还有甚么更有效率的外汇买卖策略呢？
最有效的方法肯定就是用程序做买卖，可是要做到一个能够24小时运作，还能够赚钱的程序，不是一朝一夕可以做到，背后其实包含了上万小时的经验才可以累积出来。对于初学者来讲，最重要的就是了解外汇的交易时间，并且设定好目标，这就会在有效的时间表内，增加获利的机会，也不会完全消耗自己的精神和体力。
