The Retail Sales Report determines the change in the aggregate value of sales at the retail level across the country. It is an important indicator of consumer spending, which accounts for the majority of economic activity.
If the actual value of the Retail Sales Report exceeds its forecast, the GBP generally shows an uptrend (bullish). And if the actual value of the Retail Sales Report falls behind its forecast, the GBP generally shows a downtrend (bearish).
