The Body Shop Tutup 75 Toko di Inggris

Pasardana.id - The Body Shop pada Kamis (29/2/2024) mengumumkan penutupan 75 toko di Inggris dalam beberapa pekan ke depan dan pemberhentian 489 karyawan dalam langkah restrukturisasi yang dilakukan perusahaan kosmetik tersebut.

Seperti dilansir BBC News, FRP Advisory yang mengelola restrukturisasi akan membantu seluruh karyawan yang terdampak dengan klaim terhadap Redundancy Payments Service, termasuk karyawan yang bekerja di kantor pusat The Body Shop.

Setelah penutupan 75 toko, toko The Body Shop yang buka di Inggris hanya akan tersisa 116 toko.

The Body Shop ditempatkan dalam administrasi awal Februari setelah gagal melakukan pembayaran utang.

Restrukturisasi dilakukan hanya beberapa pekan setelah The Body Shop diakuisisi perusahaan ekuitas Aurelius beberapa pekan lalu dengan dana mencapai 207 juta poundsterling.

The Body Shop didirikan di Brighton, Inggris, pada 1976 oleh mendiang Dame Anita Roddick. Roddick menjual The Body Shop ke perusahaan kosmetik L’Oreal pada 2006. The Body Shop kemudian berpindah tangan dua kali sebelum diakuisisi Aurelius.
