西德克萨斯中质原油(WTI)在每桶76美元附近基本持平，前一个交易日下跌2.5%，为1月初以来的最大单日跌幅。布伦特原油价格也下跌。周三公布的数据显示，11月份美国石油日产量升至1330万桶，超过了9月份创下的纪录。
市场继续关注美国对周末发生在约旦的致命袭击的反应。美国总统乔·拜登(Joe Biden)表示，伊朗应对提供袭击中使用的武器负责，但德黑兰否认参与其中，并警告要进行报复。
今年1月，在也门胡塞(Houthi)反政府武装在红海对商业航运的袭击升级后，油价仍创下4个月来的首次月度涨幅。然而，对主要消费国需求和非欧佩克（OPEC）产油国强劲供应的担忧限制了油价上涨。
