Mencuatnya Tensi Geopolitik Timur Tengah Dongkrak Harga Minyak Dunia

Pasardana.id - Harga minyak dunia naik pada Senin (18/12/2023) dipicu mencuatnya tensi geopolitik di Timur Tengah.

Seperti dilansir Reuters, harga minyak West Texas Intermediate (WTI) untuk pengiriman Januari 2024 naik US$1,04, atau sekitar 1,5 persen, menjadi US$72,47 per barel di New York Mercantile Exchange.

Harga minyak mentah Brent untuk pengiriman Februari 2024 meningkat US$1,40, atau sekitar 1,8 persen, menjadi US$77,95 per barel di London ICE Futures Exchange.

Tensi geopolitik di Timur Tengah mencuat usai sebuah kapal berbendera Norwegia diserang kelompok militer Houthi di Laut Merah pada Senin. Serangan tersebut membuat perusahaan minyak BP menghentikan sementara pengiriman minyak melalui Laut Merah.

Menteri Pertahanan Amerika Serikat Lloyd Austin menyatakan AS tengah membuat koalisi untuk mengatasi ancaman Houthi. Menteri pertahanan dari berbagai negara akan mengadakan perbincangan virtual membahas permasalahan tersebut.
