OJK Minta BEI Himpun Investor Pasar Modal Hingga 10 Persen Penduduk Indonesia

Pasardana.id - Otoritas Jasa Keuangan(OJK) meminta Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) untuk aktif mengejar jumlah investor hingga mencapai 10 persen dari total penduduk Indonesia.

Anggota Dewan Komisioner merangkap Kepala Eksekutif Pengawas Perilaku Jasa Keuangan, Edukasi dan Perlindungan Konsumen OJK, Frederica Widayasari Dewi menuturkan, pada saat menjabat Direktur Pengembangan Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) periode 2012-2015, jumlah investor pasar modal hanya 500 ribuan.

“Tapi sekarang jumlah investor pasar modal telah mencapai 11 juta orang,” kata dia dalam sambutan Brights Easy di Gedung BEI, Jakarta, Selasa (24/10/2023).

Namun dia bilang, dengan pemanfaatan teknologi seperti perdagangan bursa secara daring dan maraknya sosialisasi maka jumlah investor tersebut masih tergolong kecil.

“Harusnya mencapai 10 persen dari jumlah penduduk,” kata dia.

Menurut data Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI), terdapat 11,58 investor per Agustus 2023, atau tumbuh 1,4 persen dari bulan sebelumnya.

Sedangkan sepanjang tahun 2023, naik 21,38 persen.
