Epic Games Pangkas 16 Persen Karyawan

Pasardana.id - Epic Games yang merupakan pengembang permainan video Fortnite pada Jumat (29/9/2023) mengumumkan pemangkasan 16 persen dari tenaga kerja yang dimilikinya atau 870 karyawan.

Seperti dilansir BBC News, selain pemangkasan tenaga kerja, Epic Games juga menyatakan akan menjual Bandcamp, situs musik online yang diakuisisi tahun lalu.

“Pemutusan hubungan kerja harus dilakukan untuk menstabilkan kondisi keuangan perusahaan,” jelas CEO Epic Games Tim Sweeney dalam nota yang disebar kepada para karyawan.

Menurut Sweeney, Bandcamp selanjutnya akan dikelola Songtradr, perusahaan pengelola marketplace music.

Epic Games memiliki kantor di beberapa negara, termasuk juga di Inggris. Belum dijelaskan karyawan yang diberhentikan akan berlokasi di negara mana saja.
