自今年年初以来，GBPJPY一直处长期上升趋势，8月22日触及八年高点186.75。然而，随后该货币对一直经历下行回调，动量指标显示近期或将继续下跌。
若抛售情绪持续，7月低点179.45可能初步提供支撑。若成功突破此处，汇价或将跌至7月低点172.29。继续下行，或将可能触及5月低点172.31。
反之，若汇价回升并重新回归50日移动平均线（SMA），多头或将测试7月高点184.00。若成功突破此处，该货币对可能再次测试八年高点186.75。继续上行，汇价或将升至多年来新高，届时190.00心理关口可能抑制进一步上行尝试。
