KONTAN.CO.ID - WASHINGTON. Komposisi Federal Reserve ke depan bakal menyuguhkan komposisi paling beragam berdasarkan ras dan gender dalam 108 tahun sejarahnya berdiri. Presiden Amerika Serikat (AS) Joe Biden mencalonkan mantan Gubernur Fed Sarah Bloom Raskin untuk jabatan key regulatory di Fed. Biden juga mengajukan dua ekonom kulit hitam yanki Lisa Cook dan Philip Jefferson untuk menjabat di Dewan Fed.
Tiga orang yang dicalonkan oleh Biden tersebut harus mendapatkan restu dari Senat. Kalau disetujui, mereka akan mengisi jajaran panel tujuh anggota yang memiliki pengaruh luar biasa atas Amerika Serikat yang merupakan ekonomi terbesar dunia.
