Pound Inggris menguat setelah komentar anggota MPC Bank of England, Michael Saunders, melengkapi pernyataan hawkish Gubernur Andrew Bailey. Menurut Saunders, bank sentral tengah mengeluarkan sinyal kuat bahwa waktu untuk menaikkan suku bunga sudah dekat. Hal ini semakin menaikkan ekspektasi pengetatan kebijakan moneter Bank of England di tengah kekhawatiran lonjakan inflasi.
