当日，美国福克斯新闻白宫记者约翰·罗伯茨在推特上表示，白宫副新闻秘书莎拉·马修斯宣布辞职。马修斯表示：“作为曾在国会工作的人，我被今天发生的事深深困扰……我们需要和平的权力过渡。”
