丰田与加密货币交易所合作开发数字货币
据10月26日的一份官方声明称，丰田汽车公司的IT部门Toyota Systems正与日本加密货币交易所DeCurret合作开发一种丰田品牌数字货币。
将有2500名Toyota Systems的员工参与测试，他们将能够使用数字货币换取福利积分或礼品。但这种数字货币不能兑换日元。
测试将使用DeCurret专有的区块链平台发行和管理数字货币。该试点项目将测试P2P模式在区块链上的可扩展性，以及向多人支付存在的商业问题。
丰田积极探索区块链行业，于2020年3月成立了自己的丰田区块链实验室。该公司在2016年加入了R3联盟。
丰田并不是唯一一家测试区块链和加密货币的汽车制造商。今年10月初，宝马韩国分公司宣布将运行区块链代币测试，预计2020年底将在韩国全面推出。2020年9月，雷诺试行了其区块链项目，旨在促进汽车零部件的合规认证。
