Biro Statistik Tenaga Kerja AS (BLS) mengungkapkan dalam Survei Pembukaan Pekerjaan dan Perputaran Tenaga Kerja (JOLTS) pada hari Rabu bahwa pada hari kerja terakhir bulan Maret, jumlah lowongan pekerjaan mencapai 8,488 juta. Angka ini 325 ribu di bawah angka revisi bulan Maret sebesar 8,813 juta (sebelumnya dilaporkan sebesar 8,756 juta) dan jauh di bawah ekspektasi pasar sebesar 8,680 juta.
Menurut siaran pers, "Pada bulan Maret, jumlah karyawan yang dipekerjakan sedikit berubah yaitu sebesar 5,5 juta namun turun sebesar 455.000 sepanjang tahun ini. Angka tersebut, sebesar 3,5 persen, tidak banyak berubah pada bulan Maret."
