Keyakinan konsumen di AS melemah pada awal April, dengan Indeks Sentimen Konsumen Universitas Michigan turun tipis menjadi 77,9 dari 79,4 pada bulan Maret. Angka ini berada di bawah ekspektasi pasar sebesar 79.
Indeks Kondisi Saat Ini turun menjadi 79,3 dari 82,5 dan Indeks Ekspektasi Konsumen turun menjadi 77 dari 77,4.
Rincian survei menunjukkan bahwa perkiraan inflasi satu tahun naik menjadi 3,1% dari 2,9% pada bulan April, sedangkan perkiraan inflasi lima tahun naik menjadi 3% dari 2,8%.
