Departemen Riset dan Statistik Bank of Japan (BoJ) merilis empat ukuran inflasi yang mendasari sejalan dengan rilis bulanan IHK resmi Jepang: indeks difusi item naik/turun, rata-rata yang dipangkas, mode, dan median tertimbang.

Menurut langkah-langkah BOJ, angka rata-rata yang dipangkas untuk inflasi inti mencapai 2,3% pada bulan Februari dari 2,6% pada bulan Januari dan jauh lebih rendah dari puncaknya sebesar 3,4% pada bulan September tahun lalu.
