Anggota Dewan Pengurus Bank Sentral Eropa (ECB) Yannis Stournaras mengatakan pada hari Kamis bahwa ECB perlu segera menurunkan suku bunga utama dan menambahkan bahwa dia tidak "mempercayai argumen" bahwa ECB tidak dapat menurunkan suku bunga sebelum Federal Reserve.

Stournaras menambahkan bahwa kebijakan moneter tidak menjadi terlalu membatasi dan menyarankan penurunan suku bunga sebanyak dua kali sebelum liburan musim panas.
