Fokus utama pada Rabu pagi ini adalah hasil negosiasi upah di Jepang, dengan konfederasi serikat pekerja terbesar di negara itu, Rengo, yang menuntut kenaikan gaji sebesar 5,85% tahun ini, melampaui 5,0% untuk pertama kalinya dalam 30 tahun.
Mengutip media Jepang, Reuters melaporkan bahwa tuntutan upah serikat pekerja untuk kenaikan sebesar JPY18.215 telah dipenuhi.
Selaras dengan tuntutan serikat pekerja di Jepang, Toyota merespons sepenuhnya tuntutan Serikat Pekerja Otomotif Toyota mengenai upah dan pembayaran sekaligus (bonus) tahunan, yang mencapai rekor tertinggi, menurut Reuters.
Jumlah kenaikan upah yang diminta berbeda-beda berdasarkan jenis pekerjaan dan pangkat, namun jumlah maksimumnya adalah 28.440 Yen per bulan.
Sementara itu, Okuma Corp menaikkan gaji sebesar 15.960 Yen per bulan
