Thêm vào nhược điểm, đồng Nhân dân tệ của Trung Quốc USDCNY cũng đổi mới mức trượt của nó để dao động quanh mức 7.1857 mỗi đô la. Nhiều nhà đầu tư sử dụng đồng Aussie làm đại diện cho đồng nhân dân tệ vì Trung Quốc là thị trường xuất khẩu lớn nhất duy nhất của Australia và là động lực thúc đẩy giá hàng hóa.
