The ECB maintained rates but no concern was expressed about Euro’s strength. In the mean time, the EUR/USD was seen to trade at 1.1833, with a 0.15% gain.
Similarly, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of Bank Negara Malaysia have also maintained Overnight Policy Rate at 1.75%.
Economists at Goldman Sachs have increase US 3Q GDP to 35% from 30% - based on strong consumer spending. Below are some of their quotes via CNBC:
“Following the sharp rise in spending in late spring and early summer, the virus resurgence and the surprise fiscal tightening threatened a reversal. But spending instead rose strongly in July, and four high-frequency measures indicate a further 1-2% increase in real spending in August”
