China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs of sharply criticized on Wednesday the latest U.S. decision to impose tariffs on semiconductors imported from China. During a media briefing, the ministry’s spokesperson Lin Jian said the United States was abusing tariffs and condemned what he described as the “unjustified suppression of Chinese industries.” He stressed that the move not only destabilizes global supply chains, but also hinders the development of the semiconductor industry, causing harm to both sides.
