极端单边是多数外汇交易者的恶魔。80%以上的震荡策略要死于极度单边，或者受到重创。做单边行情的，根据大数概率，50%以上会方向做反；即便方向拿准了，多半捏拿不住，以蝇头小利出场，受到单边回调的诱惑，再度入场时，不觉步入死局。
总之，出现单边行情不是什么好事。最近的美元加息周期过长，极端单边让多数投资者无法逾越就是例证。
