Morning traders, today's CPI is the catalyst for some action in the markets, the recent corrections in the energy market point to a softer CPI number which is somewhat expected, but inflation has proven that it can surprise everybody so we are open minded to the possibility of a surprise higher, in such case USD longs will immediately feel much more attractive again At the moment with EURUSD and USDCNH profits taken we have no Dollar longs running thus if today's CPI suggests that it's time to get back into Dollar longs we will be considering that

Morning traders, RBA hiked 25bps overnight which was a move not priced in, and that's an interesting development, mainly because it offers us an insight into what central banks might be thinking, you know, if the RBA is overextending on its tightening then other central banks might find themselves in a similar situation, sure the context around the RBA and FED is different but still, the RBA just opened the door for the possibility of central banks doing MORE than what's currently expected With that said, this is not something that we can take action on short term but it whispers that it is time to be careful with risk assets again, more tightening not just from the FED but from other central banks too will put more pressure on the economy globally which will weigh on risk, so in this context I continue to like the Dollar

Powell still speaking but so far not much forward guidance is being given, simply the FED is open to hiking further but also open to a pause depending on how the data develops until the next rate decision, so without much said from Powell the Dollar is rightfully basically flat after a bit of volatility on both sides, not a lot to do with it, will see where markets are at tomorrow at the London open but for now, no short term bias and no short term fundamental direction from this flat FOMC

Morning traders, I have removed the EURGBP pending order already which looks too far to get filled now, I will keep an eye on it for an entry probably nearer 0.87400 now, will see Other than that, not a lot going on, EURUSD is still in the chop where we want to sell resistance rather than support, while something that catches my attention this morning is AUDUSD, I think that's near the tipping point of this rally so we might add to AUDUSD shorts soon, obviously keeping in mind that we have a big CPI number scheduled for tomorrow so we don't want to head with too much USD exposure into that, just in case Also crypto, remember to turn and stay defensive on BTC, looks like it's about to flush lower at any moment, which is good, we want price a lot lower to start thinking about loading up again
