Harga emas meroket dengan mencapai level tertinggi lebih dari dua bulan pada perdagangan hari Selasa. Kenaikan ini dipicu ketegangan yang kian memanas antara Rusia dan Ukraina.
Rusia mengatakan prihatin setelah Amerika Serikat menempatkan 8.500 tentara dalam keadaan siaga untuk siap dikerahkan jika terjadi eskalasi, sementara Inggris mendesak sekutu Eropanya guna menyiapkan sanksi jika Rusia menginvasi Ukraina.
"Kondisi ini membuat para investor memburu emas sebagai pelarian ke perdagangan yang aman," kata Bob Haberkorn, analis RJO Futures.
