实际上，早在几年前，我国监管政策就已经明确，任何场景下各种场内外代币融资交易平台或者媒介都不得用人民币与任何形式的虚拟货币直接交易，也不允许平台以中介形式撮合交易。在系列严监管之下，目前国内绝大部分虚拟货币交易平台均宣告关闭。不过，部分在境内的虚拟货币交易平台转战海外，继续提供“场外交易”，绝大部分虚拟货币期货交易平台注册地也在国外。
因此，为进一步防范金融风险，维护投资者利益，对于监管部门来说，当前最紧迫的是提高监管规范法律效力层级，让相关违法活动依法受罚。同时，不断跟进和认识虚拟货币及其衍生品交易跨境、跨领域流动的特点，加强国际监管合作、信息交流与共享，共同打击虚拟货币跨国犯罪活动。
