英国国家经济社会研究院宏观经济预测主管盖瑞·杨表示，脱欧贸易谈判至少需要一年，而目前疫情又打乱了正常的工作节奏，所以到最后双方可能不得不同意延期。但延期不符合约翰逊政府的政策安排，所以约翰逊政府依旧坚称将在年底之前达成英欧贸易协定。但目前来看，这种情况的可能性已经越来越小。
