Japanese stocks are broadly higher thanks to signs of strength in U.S. factory activity and a weaker yen.
Electronics and financial shares are leading the gains. Kioxia Holdings is up 11% and Japan Post Bank is 4.6% higher.
USD/JPY is at 155.48, up from 154.81 at Monday's Tokyo stock market close.
Investors are closely watching quarterly results, with Denso and Mitsui & Co. scheduled to report their earnings later Tuesday.
The Nikkei Stock Average is up 2.2% at 53808.67.
