Investing - Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 1.79%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV, which rose 2.29% or 0.83 points to trade at 37.02 at the close. Meanwhile, Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV added 1.89% or 3.29 points to end at 177.44 and Grupo Televisa SAB Unit was up 1.75% or 0.19 points to 11.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Banorte, which fell 4.40% or 7.67 points to trade at 166.82 at the close. Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple declined 4.33% or 2.14 points to end at 47.28 and Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV was down 3.07% or 1.81 points to 57.09.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 160 to 73 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.09% or 3.80 to $4,331.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 2.88% or 1.63 to hit $55.04 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.86% or 1.73 to trade at $58.83 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.05% to 17.97, while EUR/MXN fell 0.09% to 21.12.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 97.86. (AI)
