The prolonged US government shutdown will likely delay a batch of major data releases, but private-sector reports and key earnings results will still unveil fresh insights on the US economy. These will be headlined by the ADP Employment Report, ISM PMIs, and the University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index. In the meantime, earnings are due from Palantir, AMD, Berkshire Hathaway, McDonald’s, Qualcomm, and ConocoPhillips, among other major corporations. On the monetary policy front, rate decisions will be taken by the Bank of England, the Reserve Bank of Australia, the Swedish Riskbank, the Norges Bank, and central banks of Brazil and Mexico. Additionally, industrial sector data is awaited from Germany and Italy, labor updates are due from Canada, and inflation prints will be released by Switzerland, South Korea, and Turkey. Lastly, China will post its broader private PMIs.
