Greece Retail Sales Growth at 4-Month High

Retail sales in Greece rose by 3.9% year-on-year in August 2025, accelerating from a 2.1% increase in the previous month. The latest figure marked the strongest growth since April, as sales increased at a faster pace for the food (4.6% vs 2.1% in July) and non-food (7.6% vs 5%) sectors. On the other hand, trade tumbled for automotive fuel (-1.9% vs 1.5%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail activity rose 0.2%, rebounding from a 1.5% fall in July 2025.
