Russia Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; MOEX Index Up 1.05%

• The MOEX Russia Index rose 1.05% on Wednesday, driven by gains in the Telecoms, Mining, and Oil & Gas sectors.
• Top performers included TATNEFT (+3.29%), Polyus PJSC (+3.19%), and TATNEFT Pref (+2.84%), while LUKOIL, Severstal, and PhosAgro declined.
• Market breadth was positive with 143 gainers versus 84 losers, and the Russian Volatility Index edged down 0.27% to 40.60.

Investing - Russia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index added 1.05%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin, which rose 3.29% or 17.10 points to trade at 536.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Polyus PJSC added 3.19% or 63.20 points to end at 2,043.80 and TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin Pref was up 2.84% or 14.00 points to 507.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LUKOIL PJSC , which fell 1.35% or 73.50 points to trade at 5,387.50 at the close. Severstal PJSC declined 1.30% or 11.20 points to end at 853.20 and PhosAgro PJSC was down 0.94% or 64.00 points to 6,755.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 143 to 84 and 21 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index - RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 0.27% to 40.60.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.03% or 41.20 to $3,941.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.35% or 0.21 to hit $60.36 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.12% or 0.08 to trade at $64.31 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 80.00, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 92.81.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 98.96. (AI)
