The Australian sharemarket rebounded after a three-day losing streak, with the big miners pulling the index close to a record high, as copper hit a 14-month peak.
The S&P/ASX 200 Index finished up 0.3 per cent, or 22.2 points, to 8969.8, inching closer to the record close of 9019.10 set on August 21. Six out of the 11 sectors were in the green as major US indices climbed overnight, led by US tech giants.
