3rd October 2025 - (Hong Kong) The Hang Seng Index (HSI) opened 65 points lower, down 0.24%, settling at 27,221 points today. The China Enterprises Index fell by 30 points, or 0.31%, to 9,693 points, while the Technology Index dropped 29 points, or 0.44%, to 6,653 points.
Technology stocks showed mixed performance. Tencent edged up 0.1%, and Alibaba gained 1%. Meituan and Xiaomi Group remained unchanged, while JD.com declined by 1.8%, and Kuaishou slid by 0.8%.
Financial stocks saw varied movements. HSBC Holdings dropped by 1.1%, while AIA Group, Ping An Insurance, and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing remained flat. Automobile stocks mostly trended lower. BYD Company fell by 1.4%, and XPeng Motors dropped significantly by 2.3%. Li Auto declined by 1.3%, while Geely Auto remained unchanged. However, NIO managed a slight gain of 0.1%.
