Retail sales in Macedonia rose by 1.1% year-on-year in August 2025, rebounding from a 2.3% decline in the previous month. The recovery was driven by stronger automotive fuel sales (+4.8% vs +2.2% in July), a rebound in food, beverages, and tobacco (+3.8% vs -0.4%), and a more moderate drop in non-food product sales (-3.7% vs -6.6%). Excluding fuel, overall retail trade edged up 0.2% in August, reversing a 3.4% decline in July.
