The annual inflation rate in Portugal slowed to 2.4% in September 2025, the lowest in three months, compared to 2.8% in August, preliminary estimates showed. Prices for unprocessed food increased 7% on the year, the same as in August, while prices for energy inched up 0.3% after a 0.2% drop in August. Meanwhile, core inflation rate also eased to 2% from 2.4%. Compared to August, the CPI went up 0.9%, the most in six months, recovering from a 0.2% fall in August. Considering the EU-harmonised CPI, prices rose 1.9% on the year, below 2.5% in August and 1% on the month, rebounding from a 0.1% drop.
