Business investment in the United Kingdom fell 1.1% quarter-on-quarter in the three months to June 2025, following a revised 4.1% gain in the prior period — that had marked the strongest growth since Q1 2023. The latest figure was revised upward relative to initial estimates, which had signaled a 4.0% decline. On a year-on-year basis, business investment rose 3.0%, down from a downwardly revised 5.8% increase in the previous quarter — that earlier figure had represented the fastest annual growth in nearly three years. The figures indicate softer investment activity, reflecting a more cautious stance from firms in the face of lingering economic uncertainty.
