Brazil Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; Bovespa Up 0.61%

Investing - Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Public Utilities, Electric Power and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.61%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Centrais Eltricas Brasileiras SA Eletrobras, which rose 4.30% or 2.29 points to trade at 55.56 at the close. Meanwhile, CSN Mineracao SA added 3.95% or 0.21 points to end at 5.52 and Centrais Eltricas Brasileiras SA Eletrobras was up 3.93% or 1.99 points to 52.68 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Braskem SA, which fell 5.13% or 0.36 points to trade at 6.66 at the close. Magazine Luiza SA declined 5.09% or 0.57 points to end at 10.62 and Grupo Vamos SA was down 2.99% or 0.11 points to 3.57.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 512 to 436 and 62 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.03% to 26.23.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.28% or 48.57 to $3,857.57 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 3.90% or 2.56 to hit $63.16 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 1.72% or 6.50 to trade at $371.55 .
USD/BRL was down 0.45% to 5.32, while EUR/BRL fell 0.29% to 6.23.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 97.64. (AI)
