Retail sales in Colombia jumped 17.9% year-on-year in July 2025, accelerating from a 10.1% rise in June and beating market forecasts of 11.6%. It was the 14th straight month of gains, with all 19 product categories posting positive results. The strongest contributions came from other motor vehicles and motorcycles (68% vs 19.3%), vehicles and motorcycles for household use (46.3% vs 20.9%), and IT and telecom equipment for personal use (56% vs 57%). Excluding fuel, real retail sales rose 21.8%. Employment in the sector increased 0.9% from July 2024.
