Brazil Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; Bovespa Up 0.90%

Investing - Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Public Utilities, Electric Power and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.90% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Magazine Luiza SA, which rose 7.41% or 0.73 points to trade at 10.58 at the close. Meanwhile, YDUQS Participacoes SA added 6.72% or 0.88 points to end at 13.98 and Cogna Educacao SA was up 4.45% or 0.13 points to 3.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Raia Drogasil SA, which fell 3.93% or 0.71 points to trade at 17.35 at the close. Minerva SA/Brazil declined 2.56% or 0.17 points to end at 6.47 and Banco do Brasil SA was down 2.20% or 0.49 points to 21.82.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 482 to 473 and 65 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.87% to 25.08.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.93% or 34.32 to $3,720.72 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.02% or 0.64 to hit $63.33 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 5.01% or 19.90 to trade at $416.75 .
USD/BRL was down 0.64% to 5.32, while EUR/BRL fell 0.41% to 6.26.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 96.94. (AI)
