Russia Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; MOEX Index Up 0.18%

• Market movement: MOEX Russia Index closed up 0.18% on Thursday, supported by gains in power, telecoms, and mining stocks.

Investing - Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Power, Telecoms and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index gained 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Surgutneftegas PJSC Pref, which rose 1.72% or 0.73 points to trade at 42.88 at the close. Meanwhile, LUKOIL PJSC added 1.05% or 67.00 points to end at 6,460.00 and Mobil'nye Telesistemy PJSC was up 1.02% or 2.25 points to 222.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PhosAgro PJSC , which fell 1.14% or 79.00 points to trade at 6,855.00 at the close. VK Company Ltd declined 1.13% or 3.80 points to end at 331.50 and Gazprom PJSC was down 1.02% or 1.35 points to 130.83.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 126 to 105 and 19 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index - RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 5.49% to 29.81.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.91% or 33.20 to $3,602.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.00% or 0.64 to hit $63.33 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $66.85 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 81.30, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 94.73.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 98.25. (AI)
