Russia Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; MOEX Index Up 0.86%

  • MOEX Russia Index rose 0.86% on Wednesday, driven by gains in the Mining, Oil & Gas, and Power sectors.
  • NOVATEK (+4.44%), ALROSA (+4.18%), and Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank (+3.54%) led the gains.
  • Advancing stocks outnumbered decliners (149 vs 90), while the Russian Volatility Index (RVI) fell to a 1-month low at 29.73.

Investing - Russia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index added 0.86%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were NOVATEK PJSC , which rose 4.44% or 52.00 points to trade at 1,224.00 at the close. Meanwhile, AK ALROSA PJSC added 4.18% or 1.98 points to end at 49.35 and Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO was up 3.54% or 0.28 points to 8.16 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Polyus PJSC , which fell 2.98% or 65.80 points to trade at 2,143.80 at the close. TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin declined 0.92% or 6.10 points to end at 654.10 and IPJSC YANDEX was down 0.78% or 34.00 points to 4,343.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 149 to 90 and 12 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index - RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 0.10% to 29.73 a new 1-month low. (AI)
