26th August 2025 - (Hong Kong) The Hang Seng Index opened 115 points or 0.44 per cent lower at 25,714 points. The China Enterprises Index dropped 36 points or 0.39 per cent to 9,211 points, while the Tech Index fell 44 points or 0.75 per cent to 5,780 points.
Technology stocks were under pressure, with Tencent falling 0.4 per cent, Alibaba dropping 2 per cent, Meituan declining 0.2 per cent, Xiaomi remaining unchanged, JD.com slipping 1.1 per cent, and Kuaishou losing 0.8 per cent.
Financial stocks also saw declines, with HSBC down 0.3 per cent, AIA Group falling 0.4 per cent, Ping An Insurance remaining flat, and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing slipping 0.6 per cent.
