Russia Stocks Lower at Close of Trade; MOEX Index Down 0.90%

• MOEX Russia Index fell 0.90% on Wednesday, dragged down by losses in the Oil & Gas, Mining, and Power sectors.
• Top losers included NOVATEK (-2.85%), MMK (-2.35%), and Aeroflot (-2.23%), while Rostelekom led the limited gainers with a 0.82% rise.
• Commodity markets strengthened: Gold rose 1% to $3,392.15/oz, WTI crude gained 1.76% to $62.86/barrel, while USD/RUB and EUR/RUB remained unchanged.

Investing - Russia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Mining and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index lost 0.90%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Rostelekom PJSC , which rose 0.82% or 0.57 points to trade at 70.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Polyus PJSC added 0.42% or 9.00 points to end at 2,146.80 and Mobil'nye Telesistemy PJSC was up 0.29% or 0.65 points to 226.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NOVATEK PJSC , which fell 2.85% or 35.60 points to trade at 1,215.00 at the close. Magnitogorskiy Metallurgicheskiy Kombinat PAO declined 2.35% or 0.84 points to end at 34.71 and Aeroflot PJSC was down 2.23% or 1.50 points to 65.83.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 166 to 74 and 9 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index - RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 1.51% to 38.32.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.00% or 33.45 to $3,392.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.76% or 1.09 to hit $62.86 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $66.94 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 80.71, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 93.79.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 98.16. (AI)
