12th August 2025 - (Hong Kong) The Hang Seng Index opened down 82 points, or 0.33%, at 24,824 points. The National Enterprises Index fell by 30 points, or 0.34%, to 8,858 points, while the Technology Index declined by 32 points, or 0.59%, to 5,427 points. Technology stocks experienced widespread losses, with Alibaba and Kuaishou both dropping over 1%. Xiaomi Group fell by 0.49%, Tencent decreased by 0.62%, and Meituan saw a decline of 0.67%.
In the financial sector, HSBC Holdings slipped by 0.1%, AIA Insurance dropped by 0.34%, and Hong Kong Exchanges fell by 0.23%, while China Ping An remained unchanged.
