Russia stocks higher at close of trade; MOEX Russia Index up 1.68%

Investing.com - Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Power and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index added 1.68%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were NOVATEK PJSC (MCX: NVTK ), which rose 4.40% or 44.60 points to trade at 1,058.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Gazprom PJSC (MCX: GAZP ) added 3.54% or 4.31 points to end at 125.94 and Polyus PJSC (MCX: PLZL ) was up 3.19% or 62.80 points to 2,029.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX: CBOM ), which fell 0.55% or 0.04 points to trade at 7.20 at the close. Bank VTB PJSC (MCX: VTBR ) declined 0.08% or 0.06 points to end at 76.62 and GDR ROS PLC ORD SHS (MCX:AGRODR) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 1,083.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 208 to 28 and 12 ended unchanged.

The Russian Volatility Index - RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 2.29% to 31.97.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.84% or 28.65 to $3,428.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.62% or 1.09 to hit $66.24 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $68.64 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 79.52, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 92.33.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 98.52.
